Neptune Flags Autumn Quilt

The ‘Autumn’ linen and velvet quilt is from our latest collaboration with high street interiors brand Neptune.
Working with past-season textile flags from the Neptune Fulham store, we have created seasonal collections which aim to leave zero waste at the end of the production cycle.
This velvet bedspread is made from a delicate green printed linen, Neptune ‘Otter’ velvet, green ‘Mallard’ velvet, a pink printed viscose and linen mix and green heavyweight linen (which was left from our previous collaboration in 2020).
The colours are taken from the Autumn low tides at Pagham harbour, the silvery mud reflecting the bright sky, balanced with striking greens and soft pinks.
This is a one-off piece made by hand in our South London Studio. The quilt has been hand-quilted with wool wadding in the centre and natural linen on the reverse, highlighting the carefully drawn lines of stitching.
In a departure from our previous Neptune quilt, the quilting has all been completed by hand using a luxurious Sashiko thread. This technique creates movement and texture across the quilt and brings the velvet to life when the light hits it.
Inspired by the Neptune founder’s love of sailing (and Georgia’s), spinnakers and sails inspired the drawings for this design. You can read more about the production in our journal post about the project.
