The blocks quilt was inspired by a drawing of ornate doorways in Merida (Mexico). The strong blocks of colour broken up with printed panels combine to create a contemporary quilt full of heritage and ready to become an heirloom.
Designed with a patchwork of screen-printed panels in pink and red tones and two tones of lightweight teal linen. The quilt has then been finished with a mix of machine and hand stitch. The hand stitch has been done with a white Sashiko thread.
This quilt was machine-sewn initially; however, it needed more life and movement, so in lockdown, Georgia hand-stitched back into the quilt with sashiko thread.
Fun fact: Georgia liked it so much that every quilt since then has been hand-sewn.
Add texture, colour and warmth to your home with this lightweight quilt, made from linen and wool wadding. It feels super light but is incredibly warm and snuggly.
We’d suggest this piece for the foot of the bed to add texture and pattern to a simple, contemporary bedroom.
